ISLAMABAD: British government’s senior officials on Thursday met Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Chairman Absar Alam at PEMRA headquarters.
According to a press release, mutual cooperation and information sharing between PEMRA and the British electronic media regulator, Ofcom, were the topics under discussion during a meeting.
They discussed various ways in which the British government can help PEMRA. They were of the view that PEMRA can learn from the experiences of Ofcom in its complaint resolution mechanism and the process that Ofcom follows to reach a conclusion.
They offered complete cooperation of the government of UK. They also showed keen interest and appreciated PEMRA’s ongoing programme of training with media houses across the country.
