ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have registered a case against several individuals who chanted slogans against judiciary during the opposition parties’ protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
On Wednesday, the grand opposition alliance including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and seven other political parties had staged protest outside the ECP office against the alleged rigging in the recently held general elections.
The workers of the opposition parties not only chanted slogans against the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar but also against the Pakistan army.
Former prime ministers Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Yousaf Raza Gilani were also present during the rally.
The FIR was registered under Anti-terrorism Act in which PPP workers Imtiaz Raja and Kausar Gillani, along with several other unidentified persons, were nominated.
