LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has once again invited Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to join his party’s fold.
While addressing a press conference in Lahore, Imran Khan said he was happy that Nisar had refused to take orders from Maryam Nawaz who, according to Imran, had no standing in the party except for being Nawaz Sharif’s daughter.
Nisar had expressed dissatisfaction over the behaviour of the party leadership to him in talk shows. However, he had dismissed the rumours regarding his contact with PTI.
Commenting on the decision of expelling party lawmakers alleged of “horse-trading”, Imran said the action was taken on the basis of probe done by PTI’s internal investigation committee.
“The lawmakers who sold their votes were given proper chance to defend themselves before the committee,” said the PTI chief.
He also said that a list containing the names of the lawmakers would be submitted to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Responding to a question regarding Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar hearing cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the PTI chief said that the chief justice was “identifying the problems faced by the people, and it is fine.”
