Dr. Sharmila Faruqi, Information Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi Division, convened the inaugural meeting of the division’s Information Secretaries at the People’s Secretariat.
The session brought together district and city area information secretaries along with representatives of affiliate and associate wings, including the Women’s Wing, Labour Wing and People’s Students Federation.
In her remarks, Dr. Faruqi said the PPP has always led from the front in democratic struggle and public service. She paid tribute to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Madam Faryal Talpur and President Asif Ali Zardari for their tireless service to the people of Pakistan and noted that their vision continues to guide the party’s mission to uplift Karachi.
She highlighted key contributions of the PPP for the city and emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of Information Secretaries to communicate these achievements with accuracy and consistency. She directed the teams to strengthen coordination across districts, counter misinformation promptly, and amplify the party’s community-focused initiatives through traditional and digital media.
Participants agreed on an action plan for unified messaging, rapid response to emerging issues, regular district-level media briefings and enhanced engagement with youth and women wings. Dr. Faruqi thanked all attendees and reaffirmed the commitment of PPP Karachi Division to transparent communication and proactive public outreach.
